Not your average spare tire change

From this last weekend. I smashed a valve stem on a level four trail in Bridgeport, Texas. The tire was flat in seconds.

Really getting my money’s worth from that Discount Tire warranty.

It looks like your tall jack came in handy.

I think I see the problem! The road looks unusually rocky, straighten that up and you should be good :stuck_out_tongue:

Ever used a colby valve? Heard good things

We were on Inwood one day and a saw blade bounced out 'of the back of a pickup in front of us,
It landed on the edge and started rolling discreetly at us, my hubby zigged to avoid it
but it had our tires name on it and it zigged in the same direction, and yep it took the tire out

It could be worse. I had this cut in my side wall of my tire that was about 4". This is a 41.5" Pitbull Rocker, they are about 550$ each. It happened on a real easy trail in Daisy Ok. I have seen the toughest tires get cut there. Toyo’s load range “E”. Problem with mine is a high lift won’t get tall enough. We used a 20 ton bottle jack and some 4x4’s.

Also I have seen a new valve stem put in with mayo and a small screwdriver.

A hi-lift won’t reach? What on earth do you drive? Mayo? As in mayonnaise? So many questions…

I haven’t heard of those. I like the idea, though. If this wasn’t covered by the Discount Tire warranty, that is probably the route I would be going.

Yep. They put mayo on the new valve stem & wheel then put it in.

This is my trail rig.

We almost dumped it on it side in this picture, it’s very misleading. I was he only one to go up that trail that day.

I don’t think this is what Discount Tire had in mind when they drafted their road hazard policy.

If it were, it would be called the “off road policy”, amirite?
