Someone removed the cutter-head guard from the jointer overnight and did not replace it:
After one’s brain, the cutter-head guard is the single most important safety feature for this tool.
For whatever reason, it was left on Multicam in plain sight afew feet away:
Others (that should know better) used the jointer in this state without bothering to replace…sigh.

Once in a moment of stupidity I merely touched a jointer blade. Making my way to the bathroom at Lowe’s, I held my hand vertical as blood poured down my arm and dripped off of my elbow.
Using the jointer without the guard is complete stupidity.

Hence the reason old woodworkers called this thing a jointer - the location at which the fingers would be removed.

Looks like it was removed to clean and just forgotten. Kudos to the user for cleaning!

Not something that should be forgotten! And not something that needs to be removed for cleaning.
And we are supposed to clean up after ourselves.
No arguement from me, just telling you what I saw.
