Not leaving PlasmaTrash

Here is what good plasma scrap looks like, versus the cutout trash.

The good scrap has been cut to usable pieces, the scrap pieces hauled off.

Be a good member, cut up your plates and don’t leave the cutouts. I get that a lot of you have usable space, but it’s not usable for the next person without a lot of work, it takes up extra scrap room, and they end up chucking the other parts anyway.

If you are running the machine you need to cut it down. This new machine has a very easy to use “quick cut” feature to make the process easy.

Using this cutter, can we now cut up the plasmatrash into smaller pieces to be recycled?

Yes, you can use it to cut it down

What I am highlighting is something that, I think I understand from @hon1nbo … that this machine may stop and start the arc across gaps. Meaning that even if it has plasmatrash holes that it can still be cut in a straight line across the holes. I wanted to verify this.

That’s expanded sheet metal mode which has small holes in an intermittent, very specific operation. That’s not in any way an excuse to leave pieces with large cutouts.

sigh Not saying that it is.

Would it cut one of the large pre-cut pieces down to smaller chunks?
I’m considering ways to recycle instead of just throwing metal in the trash.

You can always cut a piece down, it’s just easier now that you don’t have to CAD every single line cut. It will be easier when we get the manual controller
