NinjaFlex - More colors coming soon!

We are running low on the spool of NinjaFlex that we currently have, so I reached out to PolyPrinter to ask if they are going to be stocking it.

Ed said they are going to become a dealer. It’s going to be awesome to have a local NinjaFlex dealer!

We were discussing which colors we might want available here at the 'Space. This is what I told him:

That being said, as far as popular colors? I know I love the Sapphire Blue! That’s just me though.

What I would like to get sooner than later to get things started:
Midnight (Black)
Snow (White)
Fire (Red)
Sapphire (Blue)
Flamingo (Pink) - for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day all coming up

As far as ongoing? Until I get more feedback from others, I would guess the following:

Staples:
Midnight (Black)
Snow (White)

Possible Staples:
Fire (Red)
Sapphire (Blue)

Some I’d like to see:
Lava (Orange)
Water (Semi-transparent) - I understand this can be a challenge… How bad is it?
Gold (Gold)
Sun (Yellow)
Grass (Green)

Seasonal:
Flamingo (Pink) - Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day all coming up

Hopefully, we will have some more NinjaFlex filament coming soon!

Things to know:

  1. Before using the Flexible Filament Printer, a separate (one on one) training is required. A list of Flexible Filament Trainers is maintained on the wiki at: 3DFab-Members-RolesAndAuthorizations - Dallas Makerspace.
  2. If you use NinjaFlex from the 3D Fab supply, the cost is: $0.30 per gram - including all support material, ‘failed’ prints, etc…
  3. The NinjaFlex is on one of the shelves in the 3D Fab Room - behind a locked ‘cover’. Once you have been trained and authorized to use the Flexible Filament Printer, you will receive the code for the lock. NOTE: The locked ‘cover’ is intended as a reminder that training is required (and a deterrent against unauthorized use). It is not intended to be secure (obviously - lol). If you have been trained by one of the trainers listed on the wiki and do not yet have the code, please contact me here (reply to this post or PM), or via e-mail ([email protected]) and/or via the 3D Fab Google Hangout.

Now for some “ooohs” and “aaaahs”…

Sapphire and Lava would be nice colors to have. I can print more watch bands and wallets…

Just thinking of this, is there a piece of paper on the cabinet with the process for getting trained?

I def like both Sapphire (Blue) and Lava (Orange)!

Oh 'n I’m guessing you are asking about the instructions ‘rhetorically’, right? Because not only have I pointed it out as hopefully being super easy to find; but, there are at least three (sometimes four) places within inches of the printer providing that information (the fourth place being written on the white board next to the printer… but, that sometimes gets smeared, so I don’t expect it to always show up well… )

We are already almost out of our spool of Snow (White) - wow!

I’m going to buy some Midnight (Black) from PolyPrinter tonight or tomorrow; and, I am going to order some Lava (Orange) from Smile.Amazon.com in a few minutes, so we will have some of that soon, too!
