RFID required for the use of better specialty tools(distant future) in the future - so if returned, lost, broken then the last person to badge in to use the tool pays for the damage / loss - zero excuses i.e. someone else used it after me etc (this is an incented to actually be responsible and use with care so that OTHERS will find the tool / equipment in good serviceable condition when needed.
For example - a smoke machine is a much needed diag tool for emissions repair. That tool would be an RFID secured item. one badge one user. If that user is careless and doesnât return it - he/she is solely financially responsible for it.
Donât like the idea - then buy your own specialty tools.
