It’s a very easy fix and works. I tested it on my main computer (this one I posting from.)
Nah. It’s simple. Just make sure you’re on the right setting. ( containing “punycode” ). Should be the only one.
FYI, the real domain name is always displayed in the certificate viewer. To verify the site’s domain name in Chrome, hit F12 to bring up the console, click on the Security
tab, then click on View Certificate
.
Note that under the Issued To
section the Common Name (CN)
is actually www.xn--e1awd7f.com
and not epic.com
as the URL shows.
You can use these steps to double check any site where you are unsure.
“Simple” and “computers” in my life experience are words tricksters like: Loki (Nordic), Coyote & Crow (Native American), Satan (see Job), Reynard the Fox (French/German), Puck (Celtic/English) and others at their annual convention (currently held in the bar at electronics conventions), all agreed it would be jolly good fun to put these to words together.
