Michael’s just added this dedicated area to the front of their store in Lewisville. Free to use, buy your supplies there or bring your own. I saw a Cricut, heat press, and two seeing machines plus an assortment of various hand tools.
I heard the other day that the downtown Dallas library has created some Makerspace areas in the library I remember one of them was a fabric one room I think another one is connected to 3D modeling and I think the third is more a spice for a storytelling and that sort of thing.
I know that the Arlington central library has a makerspace area.
I don’t see that one in Micheal’s lasting for very long. Or well, maybe it will. They do have people on pay roll to clean and re-order it.
The Farmer’s Market in Downtown has one now as well supposedly. I can’t seem to find it but people are talking about it.
I wish them luck, but I find myself wondering how long the blade in the Cricut and the needles and bobbins in the sewing machines are going to last, among other maintenance issues…
They say “Make a mess” but not clean it up…
