We need a small crew to break down racks that are being donated to DMS. They are in ft worth and Stan is going to lead up the volunteer effort. We need a driver and at least two others. This is a fabulous savings for DMS so please let @StanSimmons know if you are available to help.

@Varjagi is arranging the truck, I’ve got storage arranged… now we need a few people that are willing to take apart and haul the storage racks in Ft Worth. (similar to the ones we have for project storage)

If you use ryan at the uhaul on 35 he will give you a discount for DMS

I think the Ryder on Beltline does a discount as well. The trucks are dock height and they have lift gates. The U-Haul won’t be dock height.

(P.S. having had to rent trucks for many years to haul exhibits and stuff in, I will no longer use anyone but Penske - their rates usually beat others by a mile, their equipment is always in good shape, and lift gates are a huge help)

Ryder don’t have 20’. It’s either 16 or 26. The 26 one is $89/day. I don’t know if you can drive that one a regular driving license.

I’d like to get started relatively early, say around 10am, but I’m pretty flexible.
These are large racks and will require some effort to get down and out of their current location. There may or may not be a forklift in the warehouse as of tomorrow, I’m not sure what the guys did over there today. I have keys to the building and can open it whenever, but I’d say unless we can round up at least 4 people, we might as well not bother.
There are docks available at the building as well as a drive through if that’s easier. Keep in mind that whatever we load, we need to be able to unload and I have no clue what the storage solution is.
As for tools, I’d say we’ll need an impact wrench and a set of sockets, a mallet or two, and an angle grinder just to be safe.
I don’t think a 16’ truck will be big enough but I might be surprised by that. Some will definitely fit in there, but not all, at least I don’t think they will.
Penske 22’ is $130/day and $1/mile.
I can be at DMS by 10AM.
