Need to identfy a plastic for an application

I need to fabricate a water shield for a connector in the engine compartment of my mini van. Ford helpfully (not!) channels water from the windshield right next to a connector that is not waterproofed in any way. To make matters worse, their technical service bulletin targeted at ‘improving’ the issue channels more water into that area. It’s bad enough that the firewall next to the connector is rusting out (after 20 years to be fair.)

I want to form a shield that will form an awning and divert water past the connector and the firewall. I may end up using dead soft 5 or 10 mil aluminum, but I’d prefer a plastic sheet. I only need a piece that’s 10-12" X at least 6" and thin enough to be flexible. I’m thinking like polyamide or nylon 66. I’d appreciate specific suggestions or recommendations on local sources.

I think it depends on what temperatures you would expect. But if you want to absolutely safe I think 3-5 mil polyimide (Kapton) would do the trick.

EDIT: Nomex sheet could be another good option as well. You basically want polymers that will char rather than melt and drip to places you don’t want.
