As many of you know, Woodshop has been teaching the Intro to Woodshop class twice a week now, for the past month or so. The class is almost always full, and is the pre-requisite to using most of the tools in the shop.
During the class, we do hands-on teaching, and this requires some scrap wood to use for students to learn with. Typically, we go through a 1x8 or 2x8 board during each class. The wood needs to be gnarly, warped, cupped, and ugly, to make the points we want to make.
Anyone has some lumber like this they can spare us? Reclaimed Oak that’s warped up and cupped is ideal! We need it ugly! (but not painted or with metal in it, or pressure treated).
I have some of the oak I donated before that is cupped, etc.
No metal in it. What length do you need? I have mostly 16" piece of 2 x 4 of 6.
I can drop it off sometime when I come down. I will probably be there this weekend.

Not sure of the time but I will put some in the truck. Is there a place I can leave it if I get there an another time?I can tape it up and put your name on it.how many pieces do you want? Jeff WhitcombAll American Relocation an agent for Mayflower Transit
Wider is better - one of the things we do is to practice doing rip cuts on the table saws, and ripping a 2x4 can be a little nervy for new woodworkers But yes, cupped and warped oak would be awesome!
I left two bundles of smaller piece of oak for you. When I was there yesterday I saw one was left.I also left two longer 2 x 8’s. I saw you had some pine marked. If you need more wood let me know. I might be going by MS later today and or could swing by when I go to Dallas tomorrow. Jeff WhitcombAll American Relocation an agent for Mayflower Transit
I could not find any information about about times for classes aster DEC 16, where can I find it? When will the next class be? Can it be put on the wiki? Currently the Wood Shop Wiki page is almost useless because it only has SOME of what tools we have, it does not even have rules.
