July '17- Hello my name is Chad,
I am a new member to the Dallas Makerspace. I have a Dell Latitude E6510, and it has been running on Linux. It started crashing on me when running Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Fedora. I tried installing a lightweight OS called Bodhi Linux, but it freezes up at the same point every time I try to install. I am not sure, but my SSD may be bad. I would like to know if an IT person would be willing to look at it and see if what the problem could be.
Thanks!

If you don’t get help sooner, this meetup would be a good place to look for assistance.

Run the built in dell diagnostics and see what it says.

Thank you for the reply and video. I ran the diagnostics and the hard drive test failed. It gave me an error code and I looked it up. The SSD hard drive has failed. I will just have to replace it. Thank you again.

Thanks for the info. I will probably go to that event anyways, but I did find out that my hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. Thanks for the reply!

Glad that worked out, now for payment, go and find two machines in the woodshop that can use a good vacuuming
