Need input on designing Jewelry tables

We all love the wonderful 4 person bench that we have in jewelry, BUT
we are getting larger classes and many of these classes need a work
table at the normal height, But there are 2 problems that need to be addressed

Some of these classes involve a lot of hammering on the metal and I noticed
tonight that we got the best results when we were right over a leg, The table top
needs more support than just the legs.

The other problem is the noise! Right now we do not have enough steel bench
blocks for all the class *with then yo can place a thick piece of leather under to
help with the sound, It echos against the hard floor, I am wondering if there is
some way to reduce his with some foam type material on the under side of the
table would help,

I am thinking the tables will be in the 4-6 ft range and 20-24 inches wide

It would also be nice to have some more bench blocks without paying a lot for them,
They are is a flat steels block in the range of 4x4 in with a smooth face or one
that can be smoothed, in the range of an inch or so or more in thickness, I have also
use a big brass bearing for one

Thanks for any ides or help
