My first day at DMS and my first project complete

So I had my first day at DMS as a new member and I have to say I am pleased. I was able to take the time to meet several people before starting my project and helped where I could. I came in with a plan to build a rough first version of a challenge coin display shelf, and I was able to do so with the help of Alex. I came in having quite a bit of woodshop knowledge but its been years since I have actively used it. I asked Alex if he would give me a hand setting up the table saw for a specific task and even though he was short on time he was more than willing to help. Alex showed me how to set it and with his help I made a few test cuts in some scrap wood of the same type I was using for my prototype and then I was off. Now I have a prototype display that is clean enough for now till I can make a nicer version and its all possible because of DMS and the help of great members like Alex. I am glad @Timbo shared and showed me DMS.

Nice CAP coin… Welcome to Group 3 territory

Thanks Ian, good to see you on here. I am still a part of group 2 I used to be group 3 for a long time but moved to 2 after taking over as squadron commander for Frisco. I closed the squadron due to low staff numbers for support this past October and transferred to Plano. I was group 3 for a little over 10 years before taking over Frisco, I got the coin during my change of command. Are you back in the DFW or are you still up north?

I’m back in Richardson, but my cap affiliation is still with CO since I’ve been helping a bit with CD up there… I drop in at Dallas Composite every now and then, but try to stay out of the way there as much as possible.
