Multicam Maintenance Assistance

The Woodshop has a Maintenance Day activity scheduled for Sunday. I will be combining with this to work on some Multicam maintenance items as well:

  • Replace gaskets in vacuum valves and check valve operation.
  • Add hanger for the alignment boards
  • Move the air hose station so other users don’t have to come through the Multicam space
  • Add shelving to the newly acquired storage addition and organize same
  • Clean & reorganize the CNC router cabinet
  • Hang the monitor to be used for Multicam Public Service Announcements

Maintenance Day is on the calendar for 10:00 but this list will take awhile, so feel free to join in if the early start doesn’t work for you. If you are a user, SIG member or not, and can help … please come!

Roughly how long do you anticipate the MC being down? I will post a banner on the calendar.

Most of the list can be done without having the machine out of service. The valves & valve gaskets will probably require 60-90 minutes of offline time. I will plan to do those items first. So, long answer to your question: use 10-11:30 on the calendar.

Oops. I meant the camera page. But I will also post it on the calendar.

Whatever is appropriate.

At maintenance day, Bert mention that with the new storage cabinet, we have space and material to re-organize the bits and collets.

Current storage:

Ideas:

  • sort by type (upcut, downcut, compression, other) then size (1/8",
    1/4", 3/8", 1/2")
  • labeled, individual spot for every bit

Some ideas from the net here.

Any thoughts?
