Hey folks, there is one person who wants to test out on the CNC router with me tonight at 7:30. I will need 30-60 minutes on the machine.
While there, would you mind checking for 1/4" downcut endmills?
Sure thing, I will try to remember that.
I ordered new bits on Tuesday. Here is the tracking link. https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction.action?tRef=fullpage&tLc=1&text28777=&tLabels=9405510200793440783188
Pre-Shipment
!!! What the #$@&%* is “pre-shipment”??? Curse you end-mill supplier!!! I have things I want to make!!! Ugh. I will have to use an upcut.
@mrcity, you are off the hook. I can promise we have no 1/4" downcut endmills.
In any case, thank you @AlexRhodes! I do appreciate your getting replacements ordered (and all the other things you do for DMS and her members)!
Hey Brian, just mirror your drawing, flip your wood good-side-down, and cut it with an upcut end mill. That works, right?
I will convert the toolpaths on my test file over to 1/8th inch downcuts
update: no 1/8 downcuts in the tooldatabase so I set for 1/8th upcuts – in shapeoko class they said you could run it with the same settings for upcut/downcut. Not sure if that applies here as well. If not, I will run the up-cut mill and deal with any tear out I get later. Or maybe just get some advice from my instructor
Thanks @mrcity for helping me get certified on the CNC Router tonight!
Thanks @AlexRhodes for teaching the initial class last week!
Yuppers, glad to help and enjoy using the MultiCam!
They arrived today (Friday). I move one 1/4" downcut to the MultiCam tool cabinet. I do not know where endmills are normally stored so the rest are in the Common Room in the usual place for mail.
Thank you @AlexRhodes for keeping us stock with goodies!
