It is a REALLY pretty color. Not sure it’s THAT pretty. But there’s a sucker born every minute!
Royal Purple. Made from a rare dye from even rarer Tyrian snails yielding what is commonly known as Royal Purple. Originally known by the name ‘Murex’. In ancient times, extracting this dye involved tens of thousands of snails and substantial labor, and as a result, the dye was highly value.
This filament is 100% organic dye, filament washed in the Tears of Virgins (becoming even more rare than Unicorn horns).
My niece worked for Royal Purple for a stretch (technically for their parent Calumet, NOT the baking powder), and she never shared ANY of this lore…
I suspect a typo. Unless all PETG filament is that expensive?
I was thinking money laundering myself once I realized filament should not be that expensive.
Right on up there with ultra-rare audiophile-grade cable made with stem cell insulation that goes for >$10,000 per meter and allows you to hear what John Lennon and Paul McCartney were feeling when composing “She Loves You”.
Is that cable Apple uses in their new iNeural implant cochlear ear infacers?
Locally-owned artisanal organic free range filament?
I think they do this to keep the listing active even if the seller is sold out or low in stock.
Or two vendors with auto bidding rules without caps which take turns setting their price $1 higher than the competition.
Vendor A chooses $30, so Vendor B sets their price at $31, causing Vendor A to reset at $32. Lather, rinse, repeat.
One sees this occasionally with out of print books on Amazon.
