When I was new, I felt lost and overwhelmed from not knowing how to do most things we offer here.
I took classes to learn, but also to meet people who are creative and talented and identify as makers.
I was afraid of almost every tool in the Woodshop, and then @Mrksls2 and @shoottx and @jnorine showed me what to do… in classes. I was then confident enough to approach them, because I knew them.
Classes are important for the onboarding process while people are new and lost. It’s a great way to cure “buyers remorse” to get new members involved right away.
Yes, classes with honorarium are a cost center, but they’re also a great “customer” retention strategy.
