Simple request… Anyone have a mini-din to DB9 cable sitting around I could borrow for a couple of days? I’ve got a problem I’m trying to fix, and this ancient cable seems like my last route to fix a management port.
Seriously… I’ll buy you lunch!!
I’m pretty sure I’ve got nothing like what you need, but is this the animal in question?

I’m 85% sure that would be the cable in question. Between the manual, it’s become increasingly difficult to tell if I need a mini-din 6 or 8 pin to DB9 com port. This is for the ancientness of the machine, to connect to the diagnostic ports of a Sunfire 2530 Strorage Array.
The wiring of these types of cables were never standardized. If you know how the wiring is supposed to be, you can pick up both connectors from Tanners for a few dollars and wire it yourself
I’m betting you’ve already seen this document, but I think it pertains. If I’m right, it looks like you’ll need a null modem in addition to any applicable adapters.

If you can find some old networking folks they’ll likely have a Cisco style cable that’ll probably work (I think; not being one, I’m less than positive, but I’m pretty sure most switches use this for initial configuration).
