Specifically no. But you do need to take the Lathe Basics class. The Lathes are treated separately from the saws, and the CNC router. Woodshop divides the training up based on the special knowledge requirements to use the tools. The Woodshop basics class, is really all about saws (saws, jointer, planer, sanders, etc) and is a 2.5 hour class depending on size. The Lathe class is a completely different set of knowledge, and takes about 1.5 hours to complete. The CNC is more about generating tool paths and the capabilities of the machine and software, and is a 4-hour class.
