Messaging people!

Hello DMS makers!
I’m struggling to send direct messages, and when I click on a users profile I don’t have an option to message them.

Any idea why this is?

I’m a new member as of last week, so maybe there is something I missed!

Hi Matt,

I suspect you haven’t earned a sufficient trust level on here yet to send direct messages.

While I didn’t do this when I started (because I read All The Posts), they say if you read the Read This First pinned post, it will explain how it all works. AND! – you’ll have interacted enough with Discourse to have hit most of the “trust levels”.
