I was @DMS on Wednesday about 4pm. The stuff on the bench by the shear has been there since then, and the orange air hose appears to still be a trip hazard coiled up in front of the PlasmaCAM and draped over the sheet metal break.
The user powdercoating last night after I left was using the air hose last. I’m trying to remember the name.
When you say bench by the shear what do you mean? The small table mounted shear? Committee items that don’t fit in the storage currently. I’m waiting on some cabinet options
Apparently I had been asleep longer than I thought; I have a photo of the part being powdercoated, and it was taken at 4 am on July 4th. I had given the user in question instruction over the course of the prior hour or so, and left whilst he was doing a next batch of parts. He was working on an arcade cabinet controller
That is a “real” reel - the type that is made for a commercial environment that the DMS is, and would outlast the toy like globes that hang from our ceilings. However it IS on wheels, meaning - it would rarely if ever get put back where it belongs.
Tough choice - long life item or toy like gadget …hmmmmmm
The bags of electrical parts is committee items (some new connectors etc waiting to be wired in, but don’t fit in the current committee drawers). The grinder and tools left out I don’t know, and should be put away.
Someone pissed Chuck off. They opened almost every bag of fasteners and dumped them into the cardboard box. I tried to straighten it up but Chuck was still upset and wanted to put them into the appropriate cases that are behind machine shop.
to clarify a bit, we had bags of all sorts of new hardware; someone who was looking for apparently just a few pieces created a massive parts sorting problem. There may be a chunk of that left there as well that still requires sorting.
(p.s., I’m currently out of town returning tomorrow. I’ll be around the shop cleaning up and taking inventory in the afternoon of what all is outstanding)
Just came across this thread - I was the individual that left the hose out. I’d put back all the rest of the powder coating items, shut down the oven, and cleaned up the workbench and surrounding area, but completely forgot to fold up the hose. I’d been up around 24 hours at that point and I completely overlooked it when tidying up. I do my best to make sure I leave everything in better shape than when I found it, but I must have just been on autopilot. I apologize for creating an unnecessary safety hazard - I will make sure this does not get neglected in the future.
