Melamine/laminate covered particle board

Hi i just want to confirm if its ok to cut these to size/shape in the wood shop before i actually do.

i will need to use the router table and table saws.

Should be OK to cut on either tool.

Melamine is subject to chipout on the table saw. To avoid that problem cut a shallow scoring cut (1/16" deep) on the melamine side first, then make a second cut to cut the rest of the way through the board. They also make a fine-toothed blade specifically for laminate: might be a good investment if you are gonna cut a lot of it.

If it does chip, “Seamfil” works well to patch/repair the damage.
