Meetup calendar times are wrong

I’m not sure how the meetup calendar is synched, but I think the times in Meetup didn’t “Spring Forward”

There were several people here today (Sat, 3/21) looking for some class that had ended an hour before.

It causes a lot of frustration when new people who don’t know about the DMS Google Calendar rely on Meetup to direct them to classes here at DMS.

The standard reply I’ve heard from folks around here is “Don’t rely on Meetup calendar” which is unfortunate because it is a major information gateway into what’s going on here at DMS. In fact, that is how I became a member here, from a class that was posted on meetup.

Maybe add link to dms calender in the comments on meet up.

Thanks. When I walked in to teach my Electronics Class, some folks in the hall were debating what time my class was supposed to start. They noticed the disparity between Meetup and DMS calendars.

Just pushed the fix for this. For previously approved times, someone should
go into the DMS Meetup.com and fix those.

My experience is not everything appears on MeetUp, I check the DMS Events page about every two or three days and scan about 28 days out as that is when new classes often appear. Also the DMS Events is what I assume is the “official site” for what is going on, rooms, time changes, fees, tickets, etc.

Meetup and Eventbrite are optional check boxes when submitting events to the calendar.
