Hey y’all,
Launchpad is celebrating our 1 year anniversary on May the 4th (be with you). As you may know, we owe a debt of gratitude to DMS and especially the Science committee. We’d like to welcome y’all to our anniversary party where our nerdy middle and high schoolers will do show-and-tells of their projects and our space.
We’re especially proud of our Weather Balloon project. (It’s a direct response to the catastrophic flooding last July 4th through Kerrville and the sleepaway camps in the region. Launchpad’s crewmembers are designing their own radiosonde and anticipate doing some launches of their prototype this summer. Ultimately, the hope is to launch these balloons over the region to collect hyperlocal weather data to send to NWS. We’re always looking for some Elmers and robotics, electronics, and other mentors, if you’re interested.)
The event is FREE, but I’m asking that everyone register so I can plan accordingly.
