Makerfaire Bay Area - May 16 & 17, 2015

I am planning on going this year to Makerfaire in San Mateo. I went last year with a group and had a booth, it is a lot of fun. This year I was thinking of just going as a visitor. I was wondering who else is planning on going. If we can plan hotel/transportation as a group, it’s much cheaper. We used Spirit Airlines last year, I’m checking southwest is not much more and a better way to fly.

Also if DMS or anybody wants to sign-up as a maker with a project it’s open to apply now.

I changed my mind, I might skip it this year, and just go to the makerfaire in austin this year.

I’m going this year. I have my tickets and accommodations already but PLEASE keep me in the loop about your travel plans so we can connect for Makerfaire if you go to San Mateo. I have committed to helping the eNABLE folks at their booth some for the event (San Mateo) but I do plan to make my way through the faire over Saturday and Sunday.

That’s awesome about the eNable group. I have decided to skip this year and just go to the texas based makerfaires coming up. I’ve already been twice to bay area makerfaire I know you’ll love it. Maybe 2016 would be better financially.

Thanks for letting me know. Yes, this is the first time I’ll be going to Maker Faire in San Mateo so I’m really excited. And, yes, I am thrilled about helping out eNable with their booth. We can start planning for 2016 Makerfaire and, who knows what cool things we can work up between now and then.

@frank_lima and I were talking about it. It would be awesome to have a mobile cart with a 3D printer (or Polyprinter) so we can roll around with car batteries and 3D print. Running a booth is definitely a lot of work, @redslashace and we had 5 other people helping with the gauntl33t haptic glove booth we setup.

The mobile exhibits there are pretty cool, people on bicycles that look like cupcakes. It’s like the family friendly version Burning Man for part of it.

After I go this year and check it out, I’d love to throw around some possibilities for ideas for next year. I have set up booths at all sorts of places including Toy Fair in New York. And, yes, it is an incredible amount of work.

You’ll have to let me know what you think about the Makerfaire in Austin. I might try that one next year.
