Majolica-type tiles

FA recently had a majolica tile painting event, sparked by my desire to use the few we had hanging around for their true purpose. Folks wanted more!

So, @Nathan_Jones, we were wondering how/where is good to buy these tiles. One lady wants to paint her own tiles for a table-top.

Neat! Sorry I missed this.

Ya know…I don’t know if she would be interested, but if she would, Mary Schirmer would be an amazing guest instructor for majolica. As you probably know, it’s her Thing. I think she’s taught places in the past. Her stuff is beautiful and I bet she’s got lot of knowledge and tips to impart.

Right this minute, we’re mostly interested in where to buy the pre-made, pre-bisque tiles. Since I’m not a majolica person myself, we were just painting them with the low-fire glazes.

You are quite correct – Mary does some wonderful things.

I buy them from Trinity. They have 4” and 6” tiles. A box runs about $20, maybe?

And while some might think we could easily make tiles, they are not easy to make
They love to warp Ready made sounds great

I fire the tiles at ^05, no warping.

Sorry Cairenn, I mis-read your post. Yes, you’re right, making even tiles is a PITA. Lol
