Many moons ago I took the Colchester training with the illustrious BobK and I went to use the big lathe with the 4 jaw. There’s an rfid, and I don’t have access to turn it on.
Is there a training/safety class that I need to take?

There’s two lathes these days. One is the Colchester and one is the Shark. Unless some work happened on it since I’ve been around the Shark is the only one with an RFID lockout and if you’re not trained on it you’re not yet allowed to use it.
There is a 4 jaw chuck for the Colchester if you need to use that.
