Machine Shop is a Mess at the moment - But Progress!

Thank you @Brandon_Green and @mikeglass for helping and getting a great start on the physical reorganization of the shop.

Done today:

  1. Grey steel cabinets are now along wall next to Hatcher’s
  • Unloading those cabinets was an unreal task - lots of “stuff” heavy “stuff” much needs to go. Much of it on table and bench tops right now. Plus the flippin’ things are all welded together as a unit, made moving them a bit more of a challenge.
  • Started a pallet of "Do we keep? Or do we get rid of - sell?
  1. Brandon got to use his new Gantry! Managed get it over the Bridgeport, lifted it just enough so we could rotate 180 degrees. Still in contact with floor. I told him: You break it, you buy it (actually he found in the manual how properly sling load it)
  • The grey cabinets are now along the wall have or will have all the tools needed for the Bridgeport by just turning around. The drawers with all the cutters are right there and we will actually have, at some point a clear bench to work on!
  1. Cold Cut Saw has now been moved between pillar and Bandsaw out of the Pallet Storage area - thank you @ESmith for you patience. @TBJK It is pushed far enough in so it is easy to get at it from all sides, the guards and covers are with it, the blades will be put in cabinet till needed. You have both power and air right next to it. When when get table across from it cleared and the hydraulic fluid relocated you’ll be able to easily move it with pallet jack to where ever you want for ease of work if necessary.
  2. We now will have a space to put all the blue barrels but the the one being used actively by the HAAS near the the loading ramp - Panograph has been moved over.
  3. Some of the Drawer cabinets with fasteners have been moved to behind the HAAS along and it looks like we have way more than the 36" wide egress passage so Fire Marshal will be happy. Rest will be moved soon opening up a lot of area.
  4. @Bill @uglyknees There was a large white board about 6 or 7 seven feet long we discovered. Brandon and I moved it into the CA annex for just until you see it. As Classroom chair you want it, it could be mounted on the wall in Interactive. If you don’t, let me know and it’s on the way to the dumpster.
  5. @SewingStuff we now have extra bins so you can start sorting cutters to you hearts content!
  6. Need to locate fork lift keys.

Will put some photos up tomorrow when the chaos is reduced. But it IS STARTED

Again thanks Brandon and Mike!

I changed the gear oil in the cold saw Thursday evening. Monday I will check the wiring of the motor then test run it.

I will be doing an inventory of the HAAS and what endmills (and such) are present tomorrow.
Also, unless someone has already done it… the HAAS needs to be cleaned out.

If you’re talking about the chips, I wouldn’t worry about it. Just blow them into the conveyor at most. As for the inventory, I think @wandrson has already done that?

He is talking about chips but they are all plastic chips in the HAAS. It wasn’t cleaned out who ever did it.

Correct… the chips were not cleaned out. I’m about to head up to the space now.
It’s cleaned out at this point, and the bucket at the end of the shoot has been dumped.
