If someone finds a small, black-handled Benchmade automatic switchblade, it’s mine.

Huh switchblades are legal in Texas now, neat. I’ll keep an eye out, hope you find it.
They have been for quite some time. Gravity knives were not until recently.
Had no clue, what I read said they were legalized in 2017 as long as cutting edge was under 5.5 in but that may have just been folded in with a ruling on other things and already existed
I’m 99% sure that autos were legal as long as they didn’t lock shut. So auto bokers would be out, as would most out-the-front knives.
Trench knives are still illegal though.
Autos, Balisongs, gravity knives, etc were all legalized back in around 2013 or so as long as the blade was under the max length (at the time I think it was 5.5"), single sided blade (i.e. utility style cutters or similar where it wasn’t sharpened on both sides for stabbing). And that’s just to carry in public. Usage of other knives in workshops or a tool chest hasn’t been an issue. The regulation basically stopped discriminating the method of opening/closing, instead only regulating the blade itself.
They massively deregulated blades this past year and now allow carry of things like Swords apparently, though I hope someone wouldn’t be silly enough to choose that as a practical EDC.
Cheers,

Also if some one finds a black benchmade mini grip with skulls and a usa flag on the blade let me know please
