Lora/LoraWAN Devices at DMS?

Do we have and Lora radios or LoraWAN modules stashed at DMS? Perhaps in the Tanner loot?

If so I’d like to come in and play with some before buying my own.

I haven’t seen any in the inventory effort, and don’t remember any from the original donation organization. That seems like something he would have sold to BGMicro instead of donating to us.

We have a guy in @Team_Science who uses them to radio down weather balloon data in Africa. I think he is Nick, so I will copy all the Nicks (except Silva and Sainz, I know its not them) and see who answers.

High Altitude Balloon Project

Hi, just joined the Makerspace precisely build something like this actually. I’ve been working on mostly solo for about 6 months now, but lo and behold, this group has done quite a lot of work. The launch around May 2016 was really impressive. Instead of APRS, we’re using a pre-existing open network called LoRaWAN to record pressure, temperature, bat voltage, etc. Basically, just have to launch next to a LoRaWAN gateway. Luckily, there’s a small open grass lot in Plano that has 3 or 4 gateways …
