Looking for logs

So for those of you who were at the June 4th sword party, I have acquired a new tool. This is the Viking Wood Splitter Sword. It’s an absolute beast and I want a way to test it. So if you have some logs you are willing to spare, I would be interested.

For reference, the specs of this blade are:

Overall length: 46"
Blade length: 34"
Pommel length: 12"
Blade width: 2.44"
Blade thickness: .35"
Pommel width: 2.15"
Pommel thickness 1"
Weight: 9lbs

Wow…it looks heavy! Like something The Kurgan might carry…

But seems like a really small guard/quillion? Is there a practical/design reason or maybe a historic story behind that?

It is truly meant to split logs so I guess the small cross guard is solely to prevent hands from sliding. This is not a historical weapon by any means.

Also, what is this June 4th sword party? And how can I get invited to that?

It was titled: ‘Social Event: Watermelons and Swords’ and was open to adult members who were willing to sign a waiver. There is some talk of a repeat in October.
