Looking for Hot Process Safety Class and Mig welding training

Hi -
I’m new to the makerspace and I’m looking to get certified to begin using the tools. I have a small project I’m trying to get done in the month of May using angle steel and making a rectangle out of them to form an outline for a cabinet front. I know the time is short.

I understand I need to take a Hot Process safety class first. Please let me know when the next one is?

Also, I would like to get trained on the Mig welders.

I am free during the weekdays and I don’t mind staying around to help clean or do odd jobs around the shop,
Thanks,
Joe

You’re in luck! I’m teaching a TIG welding class and Safety class next weekend (the 22nd of May). Safety starts at Noon, the TIG Class starts at 2 and ends at 5.

Since they haven’t been approved by the calendar team yet (should take no more than 72 hours from the time of this post) You won’t see them on the calendar, but here are the links to them once their open:

Thanks so much - I’ll keep an eye open when they go live.

Shoot - I’ve been checking twice a day and it’s already full.

I went ahead and signed up for the Hot process safety class. I’ll see you on Saturday.

Any idea when the next Mig training class will be offered?

I don’t teach MIG much as I don’t enjoy it as much. If you don’t see a class posted and one of the other instructors doesn’t pipe up you can always show up to the metal shop meeting where we do sign offs and clean up the shop and we can shop you the ropes.

I’ve stepped back from MIG as my skills are a bit minimal. @rlisbona has been teaching some great classes, but life may have happened a bit.

H B Smart (@got_tools ) did a great MIG class a couple of weeks ago. Highly recommended.
