Does anyone know where I can buy black anodized aluminum in sheets of ~0.04" or so? I need to make strips approximately 4"x24".
Not aware of a source, but are you aware that if you cut an anodized sheet, your cut edges will not be anodized? You may want to get your material anodized after it is shaped and all operations are complete. There are local companies that will anodize for a price.
Yes that is true, but that isn’t a problem. The major seen surface needs to be anodized only. I’m sure that anodizing is way more expensive for a few pieces than buying it pre-colored.

The reason I asked is I saw that vendor, and for a single 4’x8’ they wanted over $300 with shipping. I’ve seen a place in Irving but they don’t display pricing. I was hoping someone would have firsthand experience in this to say whether a place was a good place to do business with.
One place I do business with on a regular basis charges about $200 for a 4’x8’ sheet of 1/32" thick 6061 aluminum. That is plain, so I don’t think $300 is unreasonable for an anodized sheet the same size.
