Looking for an Arduino expert to help me in the classroom

I am a returning member. I have just moved back to Dallas. I am looking for someone interested in partnering with my school and me. I teach at Village Tech School a PK-12 charter school in Duncanville. We have a real maker space a laser cutter, viny machines, and woodshop. I am teaching Geometry and Engineering and would like to integrate Arduino in our projects and develop an electronic making space into our school.

Not that it is criteria, but all three have taught courses about them at the DMS, and Dale has a couple published books on the subject.

I have taught 50+ Arduino-ish classes at DMS. We are high risk and staying in close but I might be able to help remotely. Here is a list of some of my classes. I’ll PM contact info.

I want my kids to create an aquaponics system that uses Arduino to control the flow of water and give data output of water levels. I found some on instructables.com

I placed an order for a kit- # ELEGOO UNO Project Super Starter Kit with Tutorial and UNO R3 Compatible with Arduino IDE. Here is a link to the Instructables.

Depending on the timeline, I’d recommend involving the students in the selection and order process. Spec’ing out components is a very very large part of the design and learning process IMO.

From a education perspective the best is going to prototype as fast possible then finding what needs to be organized. It is too complex to do it any other way.

That makes sense, I was talking about from a learning perspective.

I’m with @bpamplin on this. I can’t go into makerspace due to coronavirus but I can help remotely. I can work with both the Arduino software and hardware.

@Carlos_Amador I’ve worked on a hydroponics project using Arduino before so I can definitely give you tips about wiring sensors and waterproofing the system if needed.

@Jerry_Kassebaum is an Arduino expert as well as a teacher!

@NickWebb did not mention but he has taught a number of Arduino classes at DMS. He is a great resource!

I wish!

I’m a mid-beginner.

I’ve taught classes, but not Arduino.

Holy cow, Brady, I think you are mixing me up with Brady Pamplin!

For those of you who did not follow the “mixing me up” line, before Jerry grew a beard everyone said we looked alike. Jerry is the handsome one.

I’ll bet you say that to all the doppelgangers.

Hey, those of you who…, It goes way beyond people saying we look alike. Many have been shocked to find out that there are two of us.

By the way, the beard is gone. For now.

What really makes it weird is that we don’t look alike.

I totally agree with this but most everyone else think we do.

We have probably diverted the subject of this posting enough for now.

Awesome i started playing with a board yesterday. I am available between 9am and 2pm most days or after 5pm. Message me and i will create a google meet so we can chat.
