Login and Money for the Large Printers - last time we will talk about it

As I’ve talked about we are trying out a login and a printer monitoring software for January. To help us gauge if it’s working please do the following:

And I’ve put a note on the box help remind users

Attach a post-it note to the money and paperclip it together please write the following
Name (and login name)
Date
Amount deposited
and approx how much you printed

I glued a tape measure to the side of the desk to help people get accurate measures if they forget to do so before printing.
Remember you pay for errors as well.

Thank you guys for your assistance with this. Ill let you know if it works. I realize it’s a thing but we gotta fix a thing to make things better for our collective thang we got going on.

Will there be post-its reliably available? Because I generall don’t carry such a thing with me. Maybe stick a pad to the box.

You don’t have post-it’s in your pocket? what type of maker doesn’t carry post-its, superglue, and a xacto at all times? Well…all of us.

I put post it’s paperclips pens and pencils right next to the pay box.
We got this.

@pandabob reminded me to add please make sure you logout of the computer or you will be responsible for other peoples print jobs

Is Paypal still accepted to @pandabob direct or maybe to creative arts direct now? Any minimums?

I’m gonna be pessimistic but this seems to add more hassle to payment (getting people to pay was hard enough already)

I thought there was going to be some kind of electronic tracking via the print queue on the pc

yes paypal is still the same.

It is an electronic tracking - I just wanted people to put post it notes on the payments. If a post it note is going to stop you from doing the right thing you got other problems.

Right… We have electronic logging to see who prints how much but it has
no way to know about payment. So, the theory is that if there isn’t a note
connecting payment to the print job it’s an indicator that it wasn’t paid
for. It’s not a perfect system but it’s a lot better than what we’ve been
doing which was just blind trust…

There’s two phases we’re working on. 1. Get payments under control. 2.
Transfer financial management to DMS/CA. We’ve got #1 under way and #2 is
coming real soon. Continue to use [email protected] or
[email protected] for PayPal payments until we make an official
announcement.

On a related note, we’ve contacted a tech and have ordered another cyan
print head per their advice to see if that resolves the issue. If that
doesn’t do the trick then the tech will be making a service call.

Thanks everyone for sticking with us while we try to get the printer
situation under control.

This would be for the plotter yes? Thanks for following up on that. Hopefully it will just be that print head.

We hope so too. A tech is $125 an hour to diagnose the problem. Although that’s not horrible we hope changing it out will be the answer.
