Locally purchase used server

I’m shopping for a new home project server. I’ve run a couple of old Dell servers for 10+ years with Debian (currently on buster). Recently I’ve taken an interest in Docker, K8s/K3s, and KVM. The servers I have do not support 64bit instructions or VT-x. So it is time to replace one of the servers. I’m looking on ebay, as I’ve done in the past, and will probably spend ~$150. I thought I’d throw out my specs here to see if any of you know someone local that might deal in older used servers. I’d rather purchase locally and keep the shipping.

For ~$150 on ebay, I’ve found:
Chassis: Tower with room for internal drives and at least one 2 port Ethernet card (e.g. Dell Precision T1700 Tower)
CPU: 4 cores / threads or more (e.g. i5-4590)
RAM: 16GB or more with mb that can expand to at least 32GB

I don’t need a hard drive or any other peripherals. I always put new drives in my used toys. I’d greatly prefer a server with at least one serial port (for console).

Any ideas or local references are appreciated.

Seconded.

I’d also get drives from them. They’re low hours or zero hours and almost all enterprise drives that will perform far better

If you want a more expensive local place with worse service than The Server Store, there’s always Garland Computers.

Look for a server with IPMI over LAN and you will almost never have to hook up to get console access.
