I am looking to mount a poster 36 x 48 for an upcoming poster presentation at UTA. I’m guessing foam board would be the best / easiest? I can’t seem to find that large of a size locally. Any recommendations on where I could find or better alternatives?
I have obtained foam board and gator (better stuff) from local graphic/drafting supply houses, like Thomas Reproductions.
Also allied plastic and regal plastic sell foam and gator board in 4x8 sheet.
I second Allied Plastic. Much cheaper than getting it at a place like
Michaels or Hobby Lobby where it’s marked WAY up. Part of the challenge is
that you’re exceeding the typical 32x40 standard size you find in most
places. Some have the bigger sheets but charge a lot for them.
Try Allied. I’ve gotten good prices there on large sheets of stuff. They’ll
cut it down to size, too.
I got tons of foam board from Dollar Tree. But I think it’s not that size.
“Coroplast” is what I’d use — it’s used for signs, like corrugated cardboard but made of thin plastic sheet, & comes in a variety of colours. Allied or Regal would be the place to go for that.
You guys rock! Thanks all for the information. I really appreciate it! Got my poster for tomorrow night all ready to go now.
