You should start a large Wiki page with local sources for chemicals. A link to this wikipedia page is a great start.
MG Chemicals 99% pure isopropyl alchohol can be found at Fry’s. While you can probably mail order it much cheaper, Fry’s is open until 9pm weekdays.
I can usually find 99% in Krogers or CVS for half the price…
This is a great resource, Thanks!
Oh, and I forgot. You can get 190 proof everclear in most liquor stores. This is 95% alcohol by volume of ethyl alcohol, which is a better solvent (among other things) then isopropyl…
91% (the azeotrope or constant-boiling strength), sure, but I can’t recall seeing 99%.
Yes, but… all of this stuff is in your head. This is why I suggested a wiki page.
It should also include stuff like this:
http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/metal-prep-coloring/blackening-browning/plum-brown-prod24772.aspx
Which can be used to blend in some welds.
Got 3-4 bottles of the stuff in my medicine cabinet right now. The places I frequent usually have 70% and 99%
Don’t let Kitty Dukakis know about it…
Ah, but it is isopropyl. That stuff will kill you…
The 95% everclear is in my solvent cabinet for things like shellac…
I guess you don’t recall the time she was so desperate she drank the wrong stuff and was hospitalized.
Oh, the 1980s politics…
Nope, missed that one… Try to avoid news about useless human beings (translate to politicians, celebrities, etc…)…
