List of Addresses of Voting Members At Each Meeting Required For Non-Profit Status

It doesn’t say anything about emails, but we are required to have a list of voting members and their addresses at every meeting. This may only include the yearly member meeting.

Here’s the code, in context: BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS CODE CHAPTER 22. NONPROFIT CORPORATIONS

Notice how it mentions the address of each voting member and the purpose of communication with other members concerning the meeting.

This has been accommodated for in the past. Walter would know first hand but he can’t respond currently.

There are scripts that were for generating it. They may need to be modified.

I think they had CSV files last year available with Names and Mailing Addresses of voting members.

Apparently, there has to be three things on it.

  1. the members who are entitled to notice and the members who are not entitled to notice of the meeting;
  2. the address of each voting member; and
  3. the number of votes each voting member is entitled to cast at the meeting.

Not later than the second business day after the date notice is given of a meeting for which a list was prepared in accordance with Subsection (a), and continuing through the meeting, the list of voting members must be available at the corporation’s principal office or at a reasonable place in the municipality in which the meeting will be held, as identified in the notice of the meeting, for inspection by members entitled to vote at the meeting for the purpose of communication with other members concerning the meeting.

Only applies to meetings at which a vote of the membership may be taken.

So I have to unregister my voting rights if I don’t want my address posted?

I believe a number of people use their work address or they use address services like traveling mailbox when they are really concerned about this. You just have to be sure that it doesn’t interfere with your billing address for your membership dues.

Okay thanks. I will have to figure out something.

You say that like it is a bad thing.

I have to admit, Walter was better in person. He’d say the same outrageous things that he’d post, but he’d be smiling and engaging.

There was no malice in what Walter said. It just took effort for many people to understand what he said. Not enough people would make the effort to understand what he said.

I swear there are times when I can feel Walters presence during some discussions and around when some of the stupid stuff happens.

@mrjimmy @ESmith

Do you know where the voting list will be? Last year a CSV file was available. The location has to be given in the notice and available within 2 business days of the notice being sent. (4/23/2020)

However, for some reason Erik is allowing voters to be added to the list after the list has been generated. (5/1/2020).

@mrjimmy … 5 seconds …

Yes, I just chose not to respond to your post because the status of the election is clearly posted and pinned at the top of talk.

In short, we will get to it when we get to it.
