Lift lesson tomorrow (Friday) at 7ish?

Hello all, can anyone get me certified for car lift tomorrow (Friday) night? I will be there between 7-9 p.m.

@TLAR (Tom), @dallasmagna (Chuck), and @patrickpleez1 (Patrick) are trainers for the lift, so tagging them to see if one can jump on and discuss availability.

I can’t give a definite answer.

I will gladly pay someone qualified $20 to show me how to use the lift tomorrow before 2pm
Thanks in advance…

It costs $50 for lift training.

Is anyone available tonight to give a lesson? $50 fee is ok.

I think he’s offering $20 to the instructor for their time, in addition to the standard $50 to the automotive committee.
Not a bad deal. You can buy a lot of beer sandwich for $20.00…

Mmm, beer sandwich…

Thought that too…but just wanted to make sure…I’ve been told some folks are sometimes surprised it’s $50 for the training.

Is an endorsement from auto committee/ board needed to train for the lift?
I can be available around 8 if none is needed.

Yes, there are only 3 people who are authorized to train on the lift. I can use the lift, but I cannot train anyone else.

You also have to be trained by one of those three people to use the lift. Just to clarify. I was trained by Chuck, who did a fantastic job! Patrick and Tom are also trainers.

What’s required to become a trainer for the lift?
I’ve taken the class before, apart from having been around lifts for work since 2000.

@Brandon_Green could answer that question …

Heading in. If any instructor is available for lift certificate let me know.

I cannot make it down there until later this evening - after I do a little work on a Honda(ugh).

To bastardize a quote from an old buddy “I don’t hate Hondas. They keep food on my table. I just don’t want to drive them.”

Had trouble with getting the large pads on the lift to straddle my little Honda CRV 2003 last this morning.
Basically I cannot get the pads wide enough to support the Honda without crushing exhaust, etc. underneath.
Is there a trick to getting small SUVs onto the lift?
Thanks in advance…
