LF:Sega Blast City, Net City, Aero City **CANDY CAB**

hi vector.
just moved back to dfw and havent really got my teeth sunk into local arcade culture yet. had to sell my SF2 machine before i left Seattle.

im looking in particular to do a MAME setup in a JP style candy cabinet. mostly any sega stlye (net, blast, aero city) with a good CRT, no burn in. dont care about game board or what it was originally, gonna gut all that. a good control board would be less work but not even essential.

let me know if yall come across one on clist or wherever.

or ive also shopped importing like 10-12 if there was enough interest.

PICS

Why a CRT? couldn’t you retrofit a cabinet with a better LCD?
I’ve never heard of a candy cabinet, how did they get that name?

The games were made to be played on a CRT and some colors are created by the tubes. so when emulating instead of correcting the software or having to run addition plug-ins i dont have. A built arcade CRT, even though its heavier, will always look and feel better IMHO. LCD is super light but the ones made for arcade are really expensive compared to crt. same with the controls.and buttons. i want a real aracde feel from a computer speed and capabilities so ill have joysticks and buttons, not a mouse and keyboard(solely)

these fellers

Kinda close to the viewlix style…

I’m about to start a full size mortal kombat x custom at the space, finishing up my cnc class, then off to design and cuts…

Are you going with an authentic arcade crt or decasing a old 32" TV 4:3.

Yours is looking really good!! Keep me updated! Arcade lcd all the way. They’re made to just bolt on. My major complaint for lcd retrofit is mounting one and removing it from its case or buying a hyper expensive arcade lcd. The latest net city 29" crt are legit pretty

No sir, that’s not mine, i was just showing an example. I’m doing a full upright… 32" widescreen smart TV i got free with my new computer…
