Last time I’m going to mention this I assure you
Guys, I’ve been working on a micro-finance dinner - it’s called Lewisville Soup and I’m hoping you guys can attend to support it.
It’s April 12th at 6pm at the Hedrick House in Lewisville (1407 Creekview Drive Lewisville 75067) it’s over by 8:30 because I need to be out of the house 100% by 9 haha

The quick lowdown: Bring $10 cash per person and put it into a bucket at the door and a dish to share or drinks or something (it’s a potluck) no booze
The concept:
At the dinner 4 people/groups will get up and pitch ideas that will benefit the city of Lewisville, everyone in attendance votes on a winner, at the end of the night 100% of the proceeds goes to an individual (or group).
My hope is that the winner of our first soup walks away with at least $400 which I think I’m going to easily hit.
I’m doing this event four times this year - this is the first. It’s my hope that I can bring this event to Makerspace or at least have a “maker centered” soup of some sort.
This idea has thrust me into a world that I’m meeting city council members/the mayor, going to meetings, meeting with people about creating non-profits, writing up news releases, and planning on a grand scale - it’s been awesome and I’m really excited about bringing this event to life.

A family who wants funds to create blessing bags for the homeless in Lewisville

Someone wants help buying supplies so he can do crazy science demos for Lewisville Elementary schools at no cost (aka @lampy)

Another group is working on creating aquaponic gardening to educate and feed Veterans

And we have a group of Lewisville High School kids who are doing a news startup

I’m really thankful to @jottwell and @lampy for funding the gofundme I’m well within budget thanks to tools at makerspace and relying on good friends for help.
