Lecture hall receiver

Anyone know of any issues with the front AUX input of the receiver in the lecture hall? We tried 2 different laptops and 2 different HDMI cables. When plugging in, the laptop recognizes the connection, but the projector responds by going from blue screen to black, then back to blue. The image is never displayed.

The rear inputs seem to be working fine.

I’m happy to change the labels on the receiver if needed - just let me know.

-D. Smart.

I’ve had problems with the resolution on the laptop. I’ve had to switch it around, and sometimes just restart the projector. FWIW: I know what you describe sounds like a receiver issue.

I messed with it tonight… for some reason (I’m simplifying it here) the projector is telling computers that it supports 1080P (1920x1080) resolution, when in fact it only supports 720P (1280x720) if I recall correctly. Go to screen resolution on your computer and crank it down and hit apply, wait 5 seconds, and if it’s still blue then crank it down again. Repeat until it works.
I will see if we can come up with the funds for a new projector, but no guarantees. Use this workaround for now!

Thanks for looking Brooks! My home projector does the same - it lies about its native resolution on HDMI. I haven’t seen an issue with it downsampling 1080 to 720 though.

What I wondering is why do the rear HDMI inputs of the receiver respond differently than the front? I also tried bypassing the receiver altogether (plugged HDMI from projector directly into laptop) and it worked fine at 1080p; this is why I thought it was a receiver issue.

Bypassing the receiver at 1080p → Works fine
CBL/SAT at 1080p → Works fine
Input 6 in rear at 1080p → Works fine
AUX at 1080p → Doesn’t work

Not a major issue - I’ll chat with Gus on it real quick.

Really?!? Interesting… yeah let’s chat with Gus, maybe we need to avoid the Aux port.

The cable’s hosed, so I chucked it in the trash. Last night I couldn’t even get it to work in the back port. I used my own cable and it worked fine, though that was from the back port.
