Leaving personal projects in Creative Arts

If any of these things belong to you, please come claim them immediately. Personal project storage is NOT allowed in creative arts (or anywhere other than personal storage or warehouse storage)
If these things are still here next time I am at the space I will assume they are donations and treat them accordingly.
Thanks.

Wait. Are you chair yet? Did @uglyknees step down and I missed it? I’m kind of confused.

I posted with her blessing. We are tag-teaming until the switchover after elections since she still has the credit card.

Nicole effectively handed everything over at the committee meeting. I believe Nicole will ratify anything that Devin is saying. If there is still an issue of whether she has the authority, I will ratify the statement as I would still be the Vice Chair until the BoD meeting formally confirming the switch.

Ok. Got it. Max was working on it today. I have no idea if he has a handle on Talk, which is why this is a poor method for communicating the possible discipline.

It’s a great piece of work if anyone gets the chance to see it up close. I bet he’s there on Friday (tomorrow), but if not, I’ll be in early and move the vest and pattern pieces to my personal storage so that he doesn’t lose them.

The dummy lives at the space, so I take it we’re debating a couple of yards of fabric?

(The mug has been there for a week or so. Have no idea what’s in the paper bag. What does the note on the sea-foam green thing on the lower shelf say?)

@maxk68 might be who you’re talking about.

Max if this is your stuff can you communicate with Devin?

And as an fyi if you just start typing @ and the person’s name it will bring up their name to tag if they have a talk account.

Don’t panic. I’ll be gone til Tuesday, but was hoping to inspire a sense of urgency.

The note has the name of the owner. I’m well aware that the dummy lives here. Regardless of size, leaving projects around with no intent to return immediately to claim them is inappropriate. Thanks for tagging Max, @merissa .

Yes I am on here, Kris Anderson was supposed to take it home with her tonight, thats why I left it there where she told me to leave it along with the small pile opf fabric she will need toi fix it for me.

So who owns the green thing?

Someone named Rochelle. No apparent talk handle. But not everyome provides their real name online. This reminder is a courtesy, as where storage is acceptable has been the same since I joined.

My bad. I went to dinner and am just getting back to finish.

Nah. The “reminder” was a threat to claim the project as a donation.

(The green thing is really pretty, too. We do have some talented people using that room.)

Appears to be a bath towel.

You’re going to think whatever you want, so I’m not going to waste my time arguing with you.

We have been collaborating and sharing files, information, and ideas since she expressed interest in leading.

Im perfectly ok (and told her to go for it) with her posting about concerns like this. This isn’t a chair issue - it’s just an issue with objects at the space.

Side note: She’s at the space more and is currently more involved with the members at the space. I’m frequently just life busy And not as present as I believe one should be to be a chair.

Newsflash. Abandoned items are treated as donations or put on the lost and found shelf. It sounds like one of the things had a note on it, which is what’s generally accepted as ok in the workshop if you have to run out and get food or something (I’m not well versed in CA specific rules), but Devin is trying to communicate that personal storage is not allowed in the Creative Arts Room.

It’d be great if people could support the volunteers that help run DMS day in and day out and are acting in the best interest of the space do their thing without being fought every step of the way.

If it makes you happy I’ll put it in lost and found instead.

I own up to leaving my stuff to go have dinner. I definitely should have left a note or put it up. I will make sure to do so in the future. One of the things I’ve noticed is that the longer you are at DMS the more comfortable you become and I got sloppy and didn’t follow the rules. Once again, my bad. I’ll be more diligent going forward.
