Leaving Makerspace

The fact we enforced rules and kicked out the thieves?/quote]

See THERE ya go…the high school shit. OBVIOUSLY I hope thieves get kicked out, but I know exactly what you’re trying to reference here. Thanks for proving my point.

“Which, you know, any business might ask you to not wear such a shirt on their premesis”

Last time I checked, Makerspace didn’t have a dress code outside of using
equipment such as the lathes. So yea the BoD can SUGGEST it, but it’s merely a suggestion. Hell I wish they would’ve asked me to leave so I can sue for ‘deformation of character’ hahaha.

As far as my sensitivities go, I have none. Hell I’d stomp on a baby for a Klondike Bar lol. So I don’t consider my issues with Makerspace anything of a sensitive natural. More like a ‘im tired of dealing with it’.

Since I’ve been a member, I have always followed the rules and never fought anyone on anything, no matter how absurd the crap might have been. I have stayed silent for this long.

Hell my gf was on my membership and stopped coming after she was doing a tour in the chair of automotive at the time decided to get onto her about the weight limit of the lift. We were told when we toured that it was 6000 bc members put it in and put it in a little off so to be SAFE, it was 6000…I even then, in spite of wanting to rip his throat out, kept my cool.

I get that my opinion is just that, an opinion. Opinions though do sure seem to get yall panties in a wad though. Hince why yall are ‘weeding out the trolls’. Who exactly gets to consider what a troll is unless it’s objectifying another persons sensitivities? At the end of the day, im done. So you can keep whatever debating comments you have to yourself. I just wanted to figure out how to cancel and get my box, but of course, people here can never leave well enough alone.

I had my run there, met some cool people, made some nice shit. Moving on now

Definitely no loss to the DMS nor the community as a whole.

You want props for behaving like an adult? OK… “You did so great not resorting to physical violence due to someone’s words!”

Never even said I was a valuable member haha. So good try though

And what was I referencing exactly? We’ve kicked out a number thieves whose damages are in the thousands of dollars straight out of the bank account, to thieves that were walking away with equipment. All of these had clear evidence.

Except we kinda do have rules about it: Rules and Policies - Dallas Makerspace
Even not factoring in the rules about gratuitous obscene imagery, it’s called being excellent to each other, and that’s why it was a suggestion and you weren’t simply removed. Try suing someone for defamation of character when you’re kicked out of a place for wearing it. On top of not knowing how to spell the term, you clearly have no idea what defamation actually is and how it’s completely unrelated to you wearing a shirt or the theoretical scenario of being asked to leave because of it.

Clearly you don’t, considering you are calling simple enforcement of rules drama that is apparently unbearable to you.

So the lift rating limit is 7000 pounds per the manufacturer, but for a period many of us were told 6000 pounds since there was uncertainty regarding an installation parameter. When it was determined that uncertainty was a misperception that requirement was removed. The fact that you seem to think someone bringing up the rules shows you were likely just wanting to break them.

Trolls aren’t a matter of opinion. Right now you’re showing yourself to be one, as you’ve yet to actually bring up anything that isn’t either A) you breaking a rule and not liking the outcome, or B) thieves getting expelled and somehow that irks you, and with both of those in mind made this post on talk to try and rile people up. I made a legitimate attempt to ask what possible, valid complaints you may have and you’re just here trolling about peoples “panties in a wad” rather than having a serious discussion.

So yeah, we’ve lost a customer. Boo Hoo. We don’t care about customers, we care about members. The fact that you clearly have no respect for the rules and get pissy when someone brings them up says a lot about the situation, and frankly I’ll be the one to say this:

don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.

When said adult is talking to a female like she’s an incompetent little girl…yes I do actually. I was proud of me lol

Good job you big strong man you! Protecting the defenseless little women!

thanks! I needed that

For a guy with no sensitivities you seem really sensitive to people telling you a shirt is offensive.

I think I struck a nerve this one lol. I like how you’re trying to make a point with the whole liberal ass ‘anti-harassment’ policy and trolling, yet you’re doing the exact same thing. You sir are a fine scholar indeed. Especially since it seems you never make grammatical errors. Kudos.

But my point has been made. People like you are the reason that place will inevitably fail. Call me what you may, say what you like. No skin off back. I have a life so don’t have time to play keyboard tag with ya. Ya want a discussion, we can talk when I pick up my boxes.

Other than that. bye bye

I think yall sensitivity radar is off. I just find it more hilarious that some like a shirt annoys so may ppl. People forget that when you get a offended…NOTHING HAPPENS. You just get butt hurt lol

Says the person that’s offended when they’re asked to reconsider the shirt in a public space in the future?

Yeah we’re totally offended little liberal snowflakes here; my statement about the door stands.

For the record, it doesn’t annoy people. It’s just in poor taste and is not the image DMS wants to project to other members.

Plus, we regularly have people with their kids stop in. The least any of us could do is not wear profanity around children.

That doesn’t even make sense!? How im I offended?? Hell I wore it even more after that.
I’d actually love it you came to slam that door too lol. Get a life ass hat

Can’t take his own notes I guess

Because apparently it’s what makes the board a bunch of power hungry tripping rude… I don’t even know how to finish that because it’s just not the case. You were asked politely to follow our rules and consider other people present, and you apparently decided to be an even bigger dick.

We asked for examples of sincere complaints, and you’re just trolling.

Apparently not.

I’m tempted to pin this to show how @Dswanson is a perfect example of how not to be a good member at DMS and how all of the “drama” is being caused by said people that claim to be leaving because of said “drama”

You seem really offended that people told you they don’t like your shirt. Generally, when people aren’t offended, they don’t think anything of it. But here you are screaming at people on the internet like it’s a tragedy.

Hey, give him some credit, he hasn’t ripped anyone’s throat out about it!

Man I’m so power hungry and miss being at DMS every weekend working on DMS management, sorting interpersonal conflicts, keeping the lights on, checking camera footage for reported issues, taking out the trash, expensing plumbing parts, answering the same emails/talk questions, on and on, etc. If I’m lucky I will get a lifetime sentence!
