Leather Embossing using 3D printer die

This is pretty cool and simple

I’ve laser cut delrin for stamps and that works great. I have not 3D printed a stamp, but I think the quality of the print would definitely affect the quality of the impression

One caveat: 3D printing leaves lots of fine patterns (stripes along the vertical; fill pattern along the horizontal). Those patterns are visible in the leather! An acetone vapour bath helps reduce / eliminate the patterns.

The same is true with dies made of wood. The wood grain pattern may not be particularly noticeable on the die but that pattern is transferred to the leather and can become quite visible.

You can get higher print quality on the resin printer using the Tough resin
