My dad just gifted me an Ultrafeed, and I will put it together over the next couple of weeks. I took a sewing 101 course with Ms. Lisa and have just been making pillowcases and will build from there.
Some of the fabric I was using was a bit challenging for the baby lock & thought I would learn the Juki and understand its capabilities for thicker fabrics.
Also I may not understand the maximum capability of the baby lock.
Any feedback or recommendations would be helpful.

What’s your schedule look like this week? I’m teaching tomorrow at noon, but we’ll probably have time in the afternoon. And I will likely have time on Thursday evening as well.
You probably want to start with the bcmg machine- it is made for heavier materials, and has a built-in walking foot like your ultrafeed.
We can look at either of the machines though. Just let me know your availability!

Hi Amelia I would love to get badged for the JUKI when you have time. I’ve used industrial machines including JUKI. I owned a straight stitch but sold it when we moved. I want to sew some slip covers out of marine vinyl. I have access to one at Tarrrant County Community College but it’s in South Ft Worth and quite a haul. Thanks!
The juki straight stitches are fashion machines. They are not for heavy sewing. They are for accurate and fast sewing.
The BGMC is the machine you want!
