Lathe Basics before April 2nd?

I’m interested in the creating small bowl on the wood lathes class but haven’t seen any opportunities for the prerequisite Woodshop Lathe Basics. Would anyone be willing to do some 1-on-1 training or know of an upcoming class I could attend?

Thank you!

Hi - Tagging @cvrana - Chris - when is your class coming up? I might have missed it but didn’t see it on the calendar. Thank you!

I had to cancel it because I did not bother to check things before scheduling it because I am SMRT.

Tossing a new one up now for the 1st at 2pm.

(EDIT: had to change the time because I remembered I scheduled it on another thing again because I’m smart. It’s at 2pm now)

I keep an eye out for that being available on the calendar and sign up. Is there any way I can make it into the bowl making class on the 2nd (since the system wants me to have the prerequisite before signing up)? If not it’s okay - I’ve seen a few of the bowl-making classes and will just watch for the next one.

Thanks Sir!

Hi Adam - Completely possible. There is also a class scheduled for the 5th with an opening. If you haven’t turned previously (or recently) it might be worth having a few turning sessions under your belt prior to the bowl class. Most folks find that even 30- 40 minutes of practice after the basics class helps quite a bit with tool control and familiarity that make it more fun. Hope to see you there!
