Lasering for DMS?

I know with vinyl if we are doing something for committee it doesn’t charge. I am doing curriculum for a few classes and need to cut some stencils. Is there a way to charge that back or should I be paying for them?

Hi MrsMoose. I’d say yes, you still would need to pay for laser time. We waive payment when a DMS tool/resource is used for something that stays with the space, but it sounds like your case is a little different.

Also just want to point out that even when payment is not required (such as when using vinyl or laser to make signage for the space), the user should still fill out a payment envelope so the usage can be tracked.

If you’re doing as stencils for part of a DMS class of some sort, paying for laser time would likely be something the committee you’re teaching the class would cover as a cost. Talk to the chair of that committee to get costs approved and how the payment to laser would work (maybe something between committees? Above my pay-grade now…)
