I have done manual focusing on this machine with the normal lens. What isthe differences when manual focusing withthe installed fine lens?
The normal lens has approximately 2.5" focal length (from bottom of the lens). The fine cut lens has a narrower kerf and 1.5" focal length. It may take a bit of trial and error to get the focus perfect. Scraps on the shelf behind the laser are handy for this.
Thanks! That was the information I needed!
1.5" from where though? When I was cutting with the fine lens there was at most 3/4" clearance from the bottom of the lens assembly to the top surface of the item on the cut bed.
I’m guessing the focal length is measured from the lens itself, not the bottom of the housing.
I assumed as much, but I have no idea what part on the lens assembly is the best reference point to take a measurement from.
Since it is easiest to measure from the end of the external piece, a suggestion would be the distance be calculated from there since it would be easier to measure or list both.
